I just love Japanese knitting patterns. They are beautiful, sophisticated, sometimes technically challenging, yet very precise.
When I saw a pattern for this beautiful vest in this Ondori publication, I just knew I had to make it. And I already had a recipient and an occasion in mind - my dear Dad was turning 80!
I had to practice the lace pattern more than once - and at some point managed to memorize it. It was an enjoyable experience to make it and to present it to my Dad as one of his birthday gifts.
