Free Project - Fluffy Dreams Pet Bed

This year we finally caved and got a pet - an adorable British Shorthair kitten! Of course, being a knitter and crocheter, I could not fathom not making anything for our new family member. Given that cats generally hate clothes, I decided to make something that our kitty was actually going to use - a cat bed! And it turned out a huge success. Not only our cat uses it daily, but he had been trying to use it even before it was made :). This project was also an exercise in recycling and upcycling - a very special and very custom (!) cat pillow was made from my daughter's old pajamas (photo courtesy of Children's Place). The yarn came from an old project that was inherited from another family member. I used all yarn pretty much to the last inch, making a tiny 'blanket', which compliments the whole set quite well. I am happy to share a free pattern of this pet bed with anyone who wants to make a similar one for their beloved fur babies.

Free Pattern - A Scarf for an 18-Inch Doll

I had some leftover yarn from a past project which I thought would be a good candidate for a dolly scarf. As this was variegated yarn, the amount of stitches I used resulted in a pretty striped pattern. I think it turned out well and I used all the yarn literally to its last inch. "Prada" Dress for Ellowyne

This Christmas I gave myself a special gift - a new Tonner Ellowyne doll. I got her through a private sale for a very good price - but she arrived absolutely naked. So I needed to make her something to wear. And this something is a dress known as the 'Prada' dress in certain crochet circles! One good thing about making clothes for dolls is that one can make them clothes one would want for oneself - but for whatever reason one wouldn't make for oneself :).
